This handmade Lino Print was made for a friend. This Witch is not your typical Witch and her tree is not your typical tree, it is a fantastical beast crossed with a plant. The Witch is tentatively checking out the fox as a possible familiar. The design is loosely inspired by Jacobean embroidery patterns and motifs which I found whilst perusing the needlework books I inherited from my late Grandmother.
This block was printed using a beautiful antique Colombian printing press made around 1814. There is barely a handful left in this country.

This block was printed onto acid-free 90gm Japanese Hosho paper using traditional light-fast, oil-based inks in a dark grey/blue.
